Made up of former members of Bill Deal And The Rhondels and The Original Fat Ammons Band, Coolin’ Out began performing in 1988 and quickly gained a following.  They received rave reviews in local papers and feature stories were done in The Virginian Pilot and Carolina Class magazine.

In 1989 Coolin’ Out released their first CD which sold out in local music stores in less than a year and reissues continue to sell today.  Their second CD released in 2001 continues to  sell and their latest CD was released in 2006.

Their rapid rise in popularity earned them a spot in a special feature TV show and they were asked to appear in the 1990 Beach Music Awards.

Over the years Coolin’ Out has appeared with Gloria Estafan and the Miami Sound Machine, The Bangles, The Drifters, Martha and The Vandellas, Little Anthony and The Imperials and The Coasters and in 2005 they were the opening act for The Beach Boys at The Hampton Coliseum.

Although Coolin’ Out is known as a Beach Music band they also perform Classic Motown and Oldies as well as today’s current hits making them a hit at any party.
